Progressive Rock BR
RECOMMENDS
PREMIATA FORNERIA MARCONI
"Emotional Tattoos"

To the very day, Premiata Forneria Marconi (aka PFM) is considered the most influential and respected Italian rock band and on October 27th, 2017 InsideOutMusic will release the band's new studio album "Emotional Tattoos". Now, the band reveals the album's striking cover artwork created by Stefano Bonora / Artkademy. The band comments: "On the cover you see a fantastic spaceship run by Franz and Patrick, bringing the band to places never explored before, introducing the audience into the new PFM world, where music has not only one identity but evolves and embraces many genres. PFM began writing their new opus in 2016, started recording in early 2017 and finished both an English and Italian version of the over an hour long record in July at Metropolis Recording Studio with Alessandro Marcantoni.
WOBBLER
"From Silence to Somewhere"

Norway's leading Symphonic Prog band Wobbler have inked a deal with Karisma Records and are set to release their fourth full-length album, "From Silence to Somewhere" on the 20th October. "From Silence to Somewhere" offers up a sound that is enigmatic, multi-flavoured and adventurous, with the use of copious amounts of Mellotron, Moog, Hammond, Chamberlin and other classical analogue keyboards, and of course the renowned Rickenbacker Bass. The guitar riffs go from poignant to edgy. Melancholy harmonies combine with powerful crescendos and high-energy, spinet-driven passages, flavoured with a touch of Flamenco and Italian Renaissance music to produce and album comprising four epic tracks that explore the idea of metamorphosis and alchemy. It is a natural continuation from Wobbler's previous albums, but with a darker, more introspective edge.
ALIANTE
"Forme Libere"

The Aliante are a great surprise in Italian music, creative, careful, never dispersive and never excessive: they have the clear ideas and the talent they need to put it into practice. They know perfectly playing with the melody and harmonious twists to create emotional and emotional enchanting music. A new sound sensation that smells of music without being snoby. Only a plane planing, calm, reflective, with a few moments of slight madness in a faster descent can fully describe (or at least give the same kind of sensations) of the music you can hear in this album of Aliante. Unpretentious music wants to open the boundaries of symphonic progressive rock to end in open and wide open skies, where the melody is absolute master and at the same time a travel companion of rhythms and unusual times.
THE TWIN MILLS
"Enceladus"

If you are patient enough, in 40 minutes you'll be. Pleased to have listened to a very carefully made record! To give you a little more context, "Enceladus" is a conceptual record: it tells a fictional story of an enslaved martian boy named Stuart Bentham. The record sets the background for the chapters where Stuart decides to flea from Mars in order to pursuit a unknown, mysterious and legendary colony built on Enceladus moon. So, from Liftoff to the latest Revelations, this album covers this drama. Use your imagination, sit and listen. The Twin Mills started as a solo project by Bruno Gouveia. Enceladus is the very first music record I've ever made - in my spare time - and it took me 18 months and a lot of hard work to be concluded. Everything was composed, recorded, mixed and mastered by me in my home studio in the Northern Area of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
SEMENTE (PROG)
"II"

August 28, 1976 was a milestone in the lives of four Cariocas, who lived among classes, girls, beaches and a common passion: music. On that day, Mário Caldas and the brothers Alexandre and Pedro Kosinski, who had played together for some time, took the first sound with Sérgio Benchimol and that alchemy created a union that was much more than sonorous. In those times of progressive rock and heavy metal, from Yes to Uriah Heep, from Tangerine Dream to Black Sabbath, from Deep Purple to Pink Floyd, from Genesis to The Doors, the four guys embarked on a journey that neither time nor distance Have finally succeeded to this day. Despite living in Brasilia since 1982, Pedro stayed close to everyone, who invariably marked jam sessions every time he came to Rio de Janeiro.
BIKE
"Em Busca Da Viagem Eterna"

The Brazilian band Bike knows about the road: through the 50 cities of 15 states in Brazil where they has passed, between large festivals and concerts in small houses, much has happened. A growing audience was forming with enthusiasm as the group caught the attention of national and international media - crossing the hemisphere and joining t30th Century Records label, from North American producer Danger Mouse. Fearless of what the ways of life can offer and guided by a sense of collectivity, the band rides hard on the release of of their Eternal Journey with the album "Em Busca da Viagem Eterna". It is the moment to go further, the search for the trip that lasts an eternity. Of course the tracks were recorded between trips and the lyrics accompanied these transitions through the states of their country, as we can feel in songs like "Enigma dos 12 sapos"...
MACHINES DREAM
"Black Science"

Machines Dream began as five guys getting together a few times a week to jam, to improvise and follow their hearts musically. Those jams and ideas resulted in songs, which led to recording and ? in March 2012 ? the self-titled debut was released. The album is a collection of progressive rock songs with a scope both atmospheric and cinematic that embraces tales of mental illness, alienation, communication and the need to find safe haven in a destructive world. It's easy to see the lineage of Machines Dream. The members listened to groups like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Marillion, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree and Tool and those influences are recognizably referenced in their own music. But here's the thing that makes them different ? the reward for being in Machines Dream remains simply getting together and making music in a rehearsal studio.
BAD DREAMS
"Chrysalis"

It's been a very busy year at the Bad Dreams camp and we have decided to harness the momentum and use all our energies into making a killer new record! We have teamed up with PledgeMusic to be able to bring our project from inception to completion with the help of those who really matter: you, OUR FANS. It is with only with your support that we will be able to see this through. QUARTO VUOTO
"Illusioni"

Quarto Vuoto is a treviso music group that today concretizes its research and artistic expression by composing instrumental music. At the beginning of 2014, the band publishes with the singer and violinist Federico Lorenzon the same EP self-produced "Quarto Vuoto" receiving excellent reviews from critics in both Italian and international. Continuing with growing passion for the journey undertaken, in June 2017 Quarto Vuoto will release "Illusions", a concept distributed by Lizard Records. Quarto Vuoto's music is born from a modern contextualization of progressive thinking. It is not a race for musical innovation. Nor is it a comfortable alliance with the consolation of playing a musical genre as complete as it is now sedimented in history.
KAOLL
"Sob os olhos de Eva"

Kaoll is a Jazz Rock instrumental band from São Paulo, Brazil, created by guitarist Bruno Moscatiello in 2008. The band believes in the massive spread of good instrumental music to all audiences, young and old, and it reaches back deep into psychedelic, progressive and jam bands music from the 60s and 70s, their main influence and inspiration, also continuously experimenting with different and exotic line-ups throughout their career. During the first few years the group developed "Kaoll & Lanny Gordin", a partnership featuring the legendary Tropicalista guitarist during the promotion of both their debut title "Kaoll 04" (2008), as well as for the recording and touring of Kaoll?s second release, "Auto-Hipnose" (2010), which also featured the virtuoso jazz guitarist Michel Leme. In 2017 the band performs its new work titled "Sob os olhos de Eva" conceived in the format of conceptual soundtrack for the homonymous book of the writer Renato Shimmi. Musically the group extends the boundaries of jazz-rock with universal musical influences bringing diverse ambiences to emotionally illustrate the set of philosophical essays presented in the book.
VIOLENT ATTITUDE IF NOTICED
"Ourselves and Otherwise"

Formed in 2008 in Saõ Paulo, Brazil, Violent Attitude If Noticed (or simply V.A.I.N.) have been working their way through the music scene playing gigs and spreading the word. The musical background of the band is based upon members's personal taste and they vary a lot. It is possible to identify influences of jazz, bossa nova, blues, post punk, new wave, art rock, electro, hard rock and progressive rock. All these elements summed together result in V.A.I.N.'s music. Textures, layers, noisy backgrounds, ambient landscapes, drum machines, acoustic guitars, heavy distorted and clean guitars are some of the tools used to develop its musicality. It's not uncommon to hear quiet and mellow sounds changing into what may appear to be a sudden nightmare. V.A.I.N. have produced and released EPs and full length albums without any label help but on the other hand, always counting on some well known professionals to make it happen and therefore names like Neil Whitman, Erik Muller Thurm, Jon Astley and Will Geraldo are commonly involved with the releases. The rather solid line up brings Alessandro Queler, Guilherme Saba and Will Geraldo and bands like Death By Visitation Of God, The Opposite Of Hate and Test Record Stereo are all in V.A.I.N.s genealogical tree.
LAZARUS TAXON
"The Dragonfly Effect"

Lazarus Taxon is a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo, formed in 2013. The band consists of old friends Paulo Ghizzi (lead vocals, piano, keyboards), Paulo Almeida (guitar, vocals), Gus Duarte (bass, vocals) and Sandro Muniz (drums, percussion). The members of Lazarus Taxon have been playing in separate bands since the end of the 1990s. When Almeida and Ghizzi decided to start a new and different band, they quickly completed the line up by inviting their mates Gus Duarte and Sandro Muniz. Lazarus Taxon?s music currently mixes sounds from diverses genres such as classic rock, progressive, hard rock, new wave and many others. The band is heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, Marillion, Queen, Duran Duran, Rush, The Cult, Muse, among others. In the second half of 2014, the first single of the band, "blue Kind" was released. The song is a kind of tribute to the sea and the whales, with lyrics rising awareness to the preservation of the oceans and the marine life.
PENDELIRIUM
"Atlas"

Pendelirium comes from Oslo, Norway. Pendelirium was formed back in 2008 by siblings Kristian and Katrine Amlie. Both had previously had music as a hobby for a while, and after having worked together on the single "Saved" they decided to form the band in order to start a more ambitious musical collaboration. In 2011 the band's second single "Windflower" was released, and their first studio album "Atlas" was released in July 2017. Atlas is Pendelirium's debut album, released in July 2017 after a long production phase. It consists of 8 songs that vary in style and atmosphere, but that all share the same theme reflected in the album's title. The beautiful charcoal artwork was made by the very talented artist Christian Asbjørn Voss.
CIRKUS IV
"The Blue Star"

Formed from the ashes of bands Moonhead and Lucas Tyson, the group's high standard of musicianship was well known in their native north-east where they attracte...d much attention and had a devoted following. It was felt that the quintet could achieve success on a national scale, provided management handled matters properly and they got the right breaks. In 1973 they recorded their debut album "Cirkus One" at Sound Associates/Emison & Air Studios and just 1000 copies were pressed up. It is widely regarded by many collectors today as the most musically accomplished private pressing of its kind to emerge out of the UK's then burgeoning progressive music scene, influenced by King Crimson and Yes. When in 1975 lead vocalist Paul Robson left the group, his replacement was Alan Roadhouse (ex Halfbreed) who also played the saxophone. With Dogg on acoustic and electric guitars, Derek Miller on keyboards, John Taylor on bass and main songwriter Stu McDade providing backing vocals, drums and assorted persussions, this became the new line-up.
TEMPLE OF SWITCHES
"Helium Parade"

Temple of Switches is a band from the Central Coast of California. The core members, Kevin McConnell (keys and vocals), Jay Heffner(drums) and Mike Monda (guitar and backing vocals) have known each other for decades and had played music together in "Jam" bands back in the late 70's and early 80's. The three re-united in mid-2012 to create what is now Temple of Switches. The music they write is complex, heavy, powerful and dramatic, in the tradition of the great bands of the late seventies and early eighties such as Pink Floyd, Rush and Kansas. The two primary writers Kevin McConnell and Mike Monda are on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to their approach to music. Mike lurks the dark and dissonant and would rather not play at all than compromise. Kevin on the other hand is perfectly at home in the pop genre with a desire to appeal to the millions.
SIDEWAYS
"Into Balance"

The symphonic rock band Sideways (from Holland) proudly presents her new CD "Fate". This CD contains 7 strong songs, which all differ, but are recognizably Sideways. Since 2003 Sideways has been writing her own material. In 2006 they recorded the CD "?.and there is light". This album was enthusiastically received by both public and press. The American site Proggnosis wrote:"....and there is light is a very good Neo Prog album, one of the best I have heard in quite a while". From the Netherlands en Germany came positive reviews as well, in which the style is compared to that of Marillion. Sideways as sympho-rockband is complete with vocals, guitar, keys, bass and drums. This means atmospheric carpets, pumping rhythms, heart pouring strings and a melodramatic story. The songs vary from simple to complex, but always put melody, atmosphere and emotion at the centre.
UNREAL CITY
"Frammenti Notturni"

Two years only after "Il paese del tramonto", Unreal City return with a new work, "Frammenti notturni". If the two previous albums (the debut album "La crudeltà di aprile" was released in 2013) contributed to spread the band's name all around the international progressive scene, thanks to concerts played in Europe and overseas at the Canadian Terra Incognita festival, this third chapter is destined to consolidate their status as one of the of the most important names in the Italian prog-rock panorama. The current line-up includes Emanuele Tarasconi, the music and lyrics composer, on keyboards and vocals, Francesca Zanetta on guitar, Dario Pessina on bass guitar and the new drummer Marco Garbin. "Frammenti notturni", which was recorded at the beginning of 2017 at the renowned Studio 2 in Padua, sees the participation of guests Matteo Bertani on violin and Camilla Pozzi on vocals. The album, divided into five long tracks, is as usual characterized by the dark atmospheres that we already encountered in the band's first two records; the sound and the production are far more modern than the past ones, but echoes of the '70s progressive rock music are still very present, as they've always been a trademark for the group.
KAIPA
"Children of the Sounds"

Legendary Swedish progressive rockers Kaipa have announced the release of their new studio album "Children of the Sounds" for 22nd September 2017. The result is as colourful musically and lyrically as Kaipa devotees will expect from the band?s rich discography dating back to the debut opus released in 1975. Formed in 1973, Kaipa never shied away from experimentation, embracing fresh elements and sounds manifesting especially on the albums released in the 2000?s. "Children Of The Sounds" is no exception, the album burns with creative fervour and spirit most vividly displayed on the title track, the 17 minutes long "On The Edge Of New Horizons" or closing track "What's Behind The Fields". It embodies a powerful, positive energy and artistic brilliance that is irresistible and true to the genre's very essence.
DRIFTING SUN
"Twilight"

Drifting Sun comes to Chesham, UK. Drifting Sun are a UK-based Progressive Rock studio project which dates back to the early 90's when Keyboardist/Composer Pat Sanders left his native France to relocate to the UK. Pat had already composed some early material for the project, and joined forces with American Vocalist/Lyricist Rafe Pomeroy. Together, they crafted some of the songs that are part of Drifting Sun's first album. In 1994, they cut four numbers in a London Studio. The recording was sent to French Progressive Rock label Muséa while Pat was touring in Canada with another band. The demo received a positive response from Muséa, and a distribution deal with their parent Hard Rock label Brennus led to the making of Drifting Sun's eponymous debut CD, released in December 1996 to positive reviews from across the globe.
DISCIPLINE
"Captives of the Wine Dark Sea"

Discipline has performed and recorded together since 1987, and remains one of the top bands in the American progressive rock scene. The band's current lineup, including drummer Paul Dzendzel, bassist Mathew Kennedy, lead guitarist Chris Herin (Tiles), and vocalist/keyboardist Matthew Parmenter, worked with veteran music producer Terry Brown (Rush, Fate's Warning) for the mixing of their newest opus, Captives Of The Wine Dark Sea, which Parmenter describes as, "an escape to ameliorate the workaday world." Discipline has appeared at numerous progressive rock festivals In 2012 the band appeared at RoSfest, the Rites Of Spring progressive rock festival in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. That performance can be viewed as an Amazon Instant video. The band has also performed at NEARfest (Northeast Art Rock Festival),
THE TANGENT
"The Slow Rust of Forgotten Machinery"

The Tangent, the progressive rock group led by Andy Tillison, have announced the release of the first new music since 2015. Their new ninth studio album "The Slow Rust of Forgotten Machinery" is set for release on July 21st, 2017. The line-up for this album once again features Tillison on keyboards, vocals (and for the first time on a Tangent record - drums), Jonas Reingold on bass, Luke Machin on guitars and vocals, and Theo Travis on sax and flutes plus new member Marie-Eve de Gaultier on keys and vocals. There are also guest appearances from author/playwright and Chumbawamba founder Boff Whalley on vocals, and upcoming DJ/producer Matt Farrow. Band leader Andy Tillison had this to say: "Roger Waters did prove the ability of Progressive Music to act as a vehicle to communicate ideas about the current world scene.
DARRYL WAY
"Rock Opera - Underworld"

Much to the excitement of prog music fans worldwide, legendary Curved Air violinist Darryl Way is releasing a new Concept Album/Rock Opera called "Underworld" on June 21st. "Underworld" is released in 2 versions: "Underworld Rock Opera Complete" which is the whole show with dialogue and narration and "Underworld Rock Opera the Songs" which just contains the songs. Says Darryl, Having touched on Greek mythology in my last album, "Myths, Legends and Tales" I became fascinated with the idea of writing a major work based on one of these myths. Originally I was going to set Shelley's epic poem "Prometheus Unbound" to music, but on further investigation it became clear that it was a little too "epic" and too big a mouthful to bite off. Then the thought struck me of updating or re-imagining the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and setting it in a period and environment that I was totally familiar with - the world of rock music and the 1970s.
ALQUIN
"One More Night"

A few students in Delft start a group in 1968. It is called Threshold Fear and they mainly play rhytmn and blues. In 1970 the band members are: Hein Mars (bass, vocals), Job Tarenskeen (vocal, sax, percussion), Ronald Ottenhof (sax, flute), Ferdinand Bakker (guitar, vocals, keyboards), Dick Franssen (keyboards) and Bart Terlaak (drums). A single is released on Negram: Sally Saddlepain/Thank me not, the track was produced by Peter Vink who later on would form Finch At the end of 1971 the group changes the drummer:Terlaak goes and Paul Weststrate comes. In January 1972 they perform in Paradiso for the first time, under their old name. Shortly thereafter (February 1972) the group changes its name to Alquin, after the student society and rehearsal room Alcuin.Due to their growing reputation, May 1972 a record deal with Polydor is closed for 2 albums and 4 singles, and they record their debut album Marks, produced by Hans van Oosterhout.
MAGIA NERA
"L'ultima danza di Ophelia"

Magia Nera was founded in the late 60's around La Spezia: the band shows since the beginning a clear inspiration dark progressive rock. The original line-up includes musicians from different local bands: the first nucleus of the group was called La Nuova Esperienza, says Bruno Cencetti, and besides me on guitar there were Andrea Bottazzi on bass and Piero Figoli on drums, who soon abandoned the group. It was he, really big fan of alchemy and esoteric cultures, to coin the final name of the group. In 1969 kicks off the adventure of Magia Nera. The years of the economic boom, says Emilio Farro, were the decade dominated by the beat. When the band was born that cycle was closing, and the sounds were taking a completely different direction.
MASHEEN MESSIAH
"For the Light Unseen"

Shortly thereafter, started playing original material and had a live debut in 2005, acquiring fair reputation for their melodic materials with dramatic "prog" touch and for their energetic live performances as well. First of all, we have changed our band name to "Masheen Messiah" as of today, Aug 1st, 2016. Actually pronunciation-wise it has no difference but multiple benefits are expected from this change of the spelling. It might look a little strange for those who have known us as "MACHINE MESSIAH" for a long time but we have decided to make this new step and your continuous support will be really appreciated.
MONNALISA
In Principio

After ten years of history, Monnalisa comes to the record debut, with an album that is a synthesis between the Italian PGM Prog Rock and Bronze Ballet and the emphasis of Spock's Beard and Neal Morse Band. There are no metal prog ideas that refer to Dream Theater and Pain of Salvation. Beautiful Italian texts accompany a gorgeous and magniloquent atmosphere. A classic gem of modern and modern design.
EPHEMERAL SUN
"Lord Of Hounds"

The Lord of Hounds is making itself known. The aural embodiment of all those things, both tangible and otherwise, that press down upon us in life. The sum total, unavoidable and inevitable, waiting to tuck you in at bedtime and to greet you at sunrise. Ephemeral Sun's new album is a caricature of this stress in five dimensions. From the "disagree to disagree" pushback of Discordance through the title track's bipolar disorder and all points between, the music seeks to describe that particular familiar sense of unease. Musically, the past remains present: complex, atmospheric and symphonic textures across the board. As with Harvest Aorta the primary ingredient is rock, blended into metal, jazz, ambient, electronica, and more with reckless abandon.
SOUL ENEMA
"Of Clans and Clones and Clowns"

It took a lot of time and effort to create "Of Clans and Clones and Clowns", and the final result brings the feeling of a real accomplishment. It was a long, complicated process, constantly laden with a myriad of good reasons to give up or compromise. It probably couldn't be any different, as our goal was a mature, well-produced statement, consistent in quality throughout, and at the same time versatile enough in its various moods, styles and approaches. A creative and diverse Rock/Metal album, exploring vast melodic and rhythmic territories - from ABBA to Zappa, from King Crimson to King Diamond, between East and West and way beyond - in true progressive fashion. Like any reflection of the world we live in, it takes a wild ride over a wide emotional spectrum: sad, funny, perfectly sane, totally insane, very direct, quite obscure, and everything in between.
PBII
"Rocket, The Dream Of Wubbo Ockels"

In April 2008 three ex-members of the legendary symphonic rock band Plackband decided to start a new group. Later, they were completed by Harry den Hartog. Since the first hour the band consists of  - Michel van Wassem (keyboards, lead vocals) - Tom van der Meulen (drums) - Ronald Brautigam (guitars, vocals) ? Harry den Hartog (bass guitars, vocals). In may 2011 PBII participated in two different prog media shows in Holland with contributions to an anniversary DVD of iO Pages with the song "Book of Changes" and on an anniversary CD of Progwereld named ProgNL with a Dutch version of the song "Plastic Soup".
NEXUS
"En El Comienzo Del Topos Uranos"

Nexus is a progressive symphonic rock band from Argentina, formed in the mid 70's in Buenos Aires. After countless shows, his record career began in 1999 with his debut album released with worldwide distribution. This allowed them to obtain excellent reviews and sales in different countries of America, Europe and Asia and to make important presentations abroad. Their subsequent recordings and presentations, gave them an almost unprecedented prestige in bands of the style coming from Latin America. Currently, the band has released five studio albums, one album recorded live in the USA in the Festival Nearfest 2000, also, a compilation album of their participation in different projects of the label Musea (France) and the magazine Colossus (Finland).
CINEMA
"Discovering Of Time"

Cinema is the current Electronic Music project of Jürgen "Pöngse" Krutzsch, a musician already well known in Krautrock circles for his contributions to the 70's band Tibet. Using synthesizers, sequencers, organs, choirs, guitars and oriental and rock rhythms, Pöngse - supported by Brigitte Grafe and guitarist Benjamin Peiser expertly crafts this varied melodic, rhythmic electronic soundtrack to create an incredibly infectious musical melange that is reminiscent in a wide range of styles, from moments of Pink Floyd to awakenings associated with Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Mike Oldfield and Schiller! The Cinema project name fits perfectly, because the tracks it produces run like movies in the listener's mind's eye! After the release of 2013's "Magix Box" a reviewer from the music magazine: Goodtimes wrote: "The melodies are as if Mike Oldfield, Alan Parsons and Vangelis were playing together", and that vibe was carried over into the 2015 follow-up: "Loopings", and again in 2017 with this "Discovery Of Time" release.
SILHOUETTE
"The World is Flat And Other Alternative Facts"

Silhouette is proud to announce "The World is Flat And Other Alternative Facts", our fifth studio album. It contains six songs with a total playing time of nearly 50 minutes. The 18 minute long epic "Bitter Sweet Memories Suite", consisting of five parts, is the longest song ever written by the band. The album is unusually diverse and adventurous. While still recognizably Silhouette, this musical journey contains influences of not only the founding fathers of progressive rock, but also of contemporary, modern acts. We won't tell you which ones, you will have to discover for yourself! What we can tell you is that this artistic evolution is obviously due to the growing influence of the younger members of the band, who were more actively involved in the writing and arranging than on previous Silhouette albums.
THE WATCH
"Seven"

The Watch is a 5 piece band from Milan. Their music is inspired by classic 70's style prog-rock. The first album is called "Ghost" released in 2001, than followed "Vacuum" in 2004 and "Primitive" in 2007. Check the discography section to get some musical excerpts from each album. In 2009 the band released its first live album "The Watch live". Melodies and energy are the main features of The Watch music and live performances are one the strongest characteristics of the band, all the band's energy and inspiration come out expressly when on stage, where it clearly appears how much they believe in what they do. The line up has changed several times through the years, only Simone Rossetti, founder and composer of the band is still there from the very beginning? according to Simone?s words nowadays the band has the best line up ever!
GALAHAD
"Quiet Storms"

As the title suggests, Quiet Storms shows a more mellow and at times pastoral side to the band's output containing almost none of the bombast and heaviness of the previous three studio albums, instead the majority of the songs and their arrangements evoke a more laid back, spacious and introspective atmosphere. As well as featuring songs included as "extras" on recent re-issues, Quiet Storms also includes several new songs along with new re-workings of older songs plus a few tracks which were included on the 2014 EP's now appearing on an album for the first time. Galahad formed in 1985 just for fun playing roughly half covers (Genesis, Zeppelin, Rush, Sabbath, Focus, Marillion etc) and half original material.
ACCORDO DEI CONTRARI
"Violato Intatto"

Accordo dei Contrari was formed in 2001 in Bologna, Italy, conceived as a vehicle for making original instrumental music. For three years they worked as a trio with Cristian Franchi on drums, Giovanni Parmeggiani on keyboards and Alessandro Pedrini on guitar. In 2003 Daniele Piccinini joined the band on bass, but soon Alessandro Pedrini departed. They became a quintet in January 2004 with Cristian Franchi on drums, Giovanni Parmeggiani on keyboards, Daniele Piccinini on bass, Marco Marzo on guitar and Vladimiro Cantaluppi on violin. In 2006 Vladimiro Cantaluppi left the band ? just one month before recording.
LONG EARTH
"The Source"

Long Earth came together by a series of fortunate but unexpected coincidences. Born from an agenda of no agenda, the principal from the outset was to create a musical adventure with no preconceived plan of the final destination. As things progressed, the band agreed we needed an amazing and very particular type of lead guitarist to join the ranks - so the hunt began. Thankfully in September 16 we were joined by the insanely talented Renaldo McKim (ex Suicide Underground). The final cog in the wheel is Hew Montgomery, Abel Ganz / Comedy Of Errors / Grand Tour who acts as a motivating factor in Long Earth. A semi silent partner almost... The circle complete, Long Earth are busy working on new material which draws on all the influences of the respective members.
GENTLE KNIFE
"Clock Unwound"

Gentle Knife is a Norwegian progressive rock ensemble featuring eleven members. With male and female vocalists, multiple guitarists, keys, synths, mellotron, woodwinds and more, our signature sound dips deeply into classic 70s prog, resurfacing with a modern take on the genre. The relentless passage of time is the main theme of the 2nd album, "Clock Unwound", which delves into lives overshadowed by longing and disappointment. Plans go askew, lovers betray and dreams fade. Yet, as a sense of resignation descends upon a dystopic inner landscape, moments of beauty remain. Songs are epic in format, and play across a broad spectrum of emotions. Progressive rock heavyweights are involved. The album is mixed and mastered by progressive rock heavyweights Markus Reuter and Benjamin Schäfer of Unsung Productions,
SARIS
"Ghosts Of Yesterday"

Saris founded back in 1981. From 1981 until 1983 they toured extensively in their native Germany, as well as recording the single "Out of Your Night". For various reasons, there was disagreement about the new musical direction and an upcoming album. So Saris went on the back burner for a few years. In 1992, a new line-up was in place though, as Martin Gellhaus (vocals), Udo Raitzig (bass), Stefan Kremer (keyboards) and Helge Bungert (drums, vocals) joined Akkermann for the recording of an album, released as "Dead End Street" in 1993. A subsequent tour followed and at the end of this, Raitzig and Bungert left the band. "Until We Have Faces" was recorded partly in Saris own studio and partly in the "Principal Studios" where it was also mixed and mastered. Engineer, co-producer and label boss Joerg Umbreit has given this album a new dimension.
HABELARD2
"Maybe"

Composer from 1977, he plays keyboards, guitars and electric bass. After short experiences with various progressive-rock groups, he started a solo research activity, moving on electronic, new-age, rock, folk & other contaminations. The Line-UP are Alberto Ravasini - Maxophone, Alessandro Di Caprio - Ubi Maior, Antonio Lorandi - Phoenix Again, Enzo Giardina - Ad Maiora, Ettore Salati - Alex Carpani Band, Flavio Carnovali - Ad Maiora, Francesco Lattuada, Giorgio Gabriel - The Watch, Ivano Tognetti - Silver Key, Joe Sal - Alex Carpani Band, Moreno Piva - Ad Maiora, Paolo Callioni - Ad Maiora And Sergio Lorandi - Phoenix Again.
MORRIGHANS
"The Three Circles Of Death"

The Morrighans music is inspired by many musical styles such as atmospheric rock, progressive rock, metal, post-rock, folk and melancholic music. The world has collapsed in the chaos left by the fallen civilization, a heaven ship brings voice and songs of mourning, rest and hope. Dirigible surrounded by crows crosses valleys, sign of despair for some, release for others. his crew revered and feared his mistress, the Triple, the Morrighan. This one opens the Three Circles of Death.
