NTH ASCENSION - "Ascension Of Kings"

The album Ascension Of Kings has a thread or theme running through it but it isn't a concept album. With the exception of a 3 part suite entitled 'Clanaan Chronicles' which will run and occur on subsequent albums. This follows a story by Darrel Treece-Birch in the vein of Narnia/LOTR which sees the rescue/redemption of a tortured realm from an evil dictator by a Seventh Rider who ultimately ascends to be a prophesied King. There is a spiritual element to the album for certain. Strange Dreams has a 'Matrix' type theme to the lyric. Vision tells the story of Moses vs Rameses from the perspective of a slave. Weight Of The World tells the story of desperation and fear that can cripple the soul but how that can be lifted through each other and true friendship. Writing in Nth Ascension is very collaborative affair. Initial 'bare bones' of songs are brought into a rehearsal setting and the band form and colour the rest from there. All members of the band bring ideas to the table and in some cases a reinvention of older ideas, eg Vision is a song written originally in 1991 by Darrel Treece-Birch, at which time it was 8 minutes long and not 18 minutes as it finally ended up. Influence wise each band member sites many artists as 'having an influence'. Such as, Marillion, Genesis, Yes, Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Rush, Dream Theater, Pink Floyd to name a few. But the band resolutely stands by, that the music that is created is not designed or to order but is a flowing and natural extension of the collective.
MARGIN
"Psychedelic Teatime"

Margin was founded in 2012 as studio project by Lutz Meinert. He played as singer, keyboarder and drummer in few Berlin progressive rock bands from 1979 till 2002. So he published with For Your Pleausure two CDs, Scattered Pages (1993) and Timeless (2000), released by Madvedge Records. Indeed in this project the musical past of Lutz Meinert often shines through. But here the psychedelic prog is the focus, the melting of psychedelic art rock with progressive rock - both in the style at the end of the sixties till the middle of the seventies. Not least the brilliant amd modern production defines a fascinating, timeless sound which merges present and past in its own special way. As a result of a extensive studio work where the titles were developed and recorded the debut album Psychedelic Teatime which released on June 30, 2014 by Madvedge Records. Here Lutz Meinert was supportet by Arne Spekat (acoustic guitar), who also played in "For Your Pleasure" and Carola Meinert (vocals).
CHAMELEON
"Rising"

The band Chameleon Rising (formerly Chameleon) was a Prog band in the Houston area back in the mid to late 1970's. The band has not played together in more than 30 years, but is currently working on a new album for ShroomAngel Records. Their music turn around early Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Nektar, Kamelot, Nightwish. Recorded between 1973 and 1978, ?Rising? represents the entire recorded output of American progressive band Chameleon. Heavily influenced by King Crimson, Genesis and Yes you can only feel for a band who cut their teeth opening for bands like MC5 and Amboy Dukes (Ted Nugent), when their own musical influences were an ocean away. Active between 1972 and 1981, Chameleon were far from prolific in the studio, but what is presented here is a band who deserved to achieve far more than they did if only their music could have reached a wide enough audience.
KARNATAKA
"Secrets of Angels"

Ian and Enrico were keen to attract new members from diverse musical backgrounds. In 2011, after auditioning a number of singers, Hayley Griffiths was announced as the new lead vocalist. Hayley was already enjoying a very successful solo career and had recently been part of the Irish phenomenon, ?Riverdance?. She had won the part after being flown to Dublin to audition for the Executive Producer of the show.  Just two days later she began a tour that over the next few years would take her extensively across Europe, North America, Russia, Japan and China singing to a crowd of thousands every night. In 2005 and hand picked by Michael Flatley himself, Hayley won the role of Erin the Goddess in ?Lord of the Dance?. The resulting tour would take her to nearly every state in North America as well as extensive sold out tours of Canada, Mexico, and Europe. A one off performance of Michael Flatley?s ?Feet of Flames? in January 2008 would mark a high point in Hayley?s career, thus far, with her voice being heard by 20,000 people at the Taipei Arena, in Taiwan. Hayley has enjoyed a hugely successful solo career, releasing her debut album Silver Screen to critical acclaim in 2010. The album was produced by Grammy Nominated producer Jared Hancock. Silver Screen won the prestigious Classical Crossover Album Of The Year Award 2010.
YUKA & CHRONOSHIP
"Dino Rocket Oxygen"

Yuka & Chronoship is formed in 2009 by keyboardist, vocalist and composer Yuka Funakoshi, along with three leading studio musicians: bassist Shun Taguchi, guitarist Takashi Miyazawa and drummer Ikko Tanaka. Highly reminiscent of late Seventies Progressive rock, the sound of the band is reputed for its philosophical depth, lyrical brilliance, and technical virtuosity. Yuka & Chronoship has released two albums so far. The debut album "Water Reincarnation" (Musea in France, 2011) depicts such an ever-recurring water cycle. Two years later, the Japanese band strikes back with "Dino Rocket Oxygen" (Musea Parallèle, 2013): illustrated by a logo designed by none other than Roger Dean, this fantastic second album offers three philosophical epics and mixes symphonic rock, jazz-rock, new-age and ethnic music. Yuka & Chronoship had perform at the Prog'Sud 2013 (France) and the Crescendo Festival 2014 (France), and it has been decided to appear in 2Days Prog +1 2015 / Veruno Prog Fes in September 2015 in Italy. Moreover, Yuka & Chronoship will make their British debut with the 3rd forthcoming album in 2015 via distributor Cherry Red Records Ltd. in the U.K.
RAMSES
"Firewall"

Four of the most sucsessfull Rock Groups of Germany come from Hannover, Eloy, Jane, Scorpions and "Ramses". It was been proven that, at the time, the guitar metropolis was also able to produce talents, what before was only found in Hamburg, Munich and Berlin. The quintet "Ramses" was the youngest of these groups. Although "Ramses" was formed in the winter of 1972. The band's name had been created by the former first guitar player who used to love old egypt culture, one of it's kings being Ramses II. In the first two years the band underwent some changes. The final formation was only reached in the begining of 1974, after the testing of several drummers, in personal before the First LP "La Leyla" and second "Eternit Rise" - team had established. From the local status to the national sucsess "Ramses" started with a double jump in a beginners contest for the magazine "Riebes Fachblatt", in the "Factory of Hamburg", the group finished 6th between 67 other groups.

SINAGOGA ZEN
"Same"

Headquartered in Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Formed By Musicians Rafael Teclas Vignatti (piano and keyboards), Alison Seben (drums and percussion) , Wilian Baldasso (bass, guitar and violin), Giulia F. Dall'Oglio (vocals) and Reverend Tabordex (Eletric and acoustic guitars and bass). All members has interests in various musical projects (sound effects, Orchestras, Groups and solo presentations). Experiences accumulated baggage and studies result in the Sinagoga Zen's music. Each musician in the band brings a range of different influences, contributing to the band's music in originality and a diverse sound. An amalgamation of influences rooted in Classical and Baroque virtuosity, polyrhythms and modernist's dissonances, elegance of Jazz, swing of brazilian music and the energy of rock. The band formed in 2001, founded with the writers "Multi - Group and Artistic Sinagoga and the Poets of Zen's Square" in 2004, which developed a series of performances (theater, concerts), with text and soundscapes made by them. Always using all their knowledge from the study of new musical forms. The release of the 1st album is the culmination of work that began in 2006, with the musicians Alison Seben, Rafael "Teclas" Vignatti, Wilian M. Baldasso and Felipe Cenci Taborda (Rev. Tabordex), adding the last member, Giulia F. Dall'Oglio on vocals. All production of the album is very satisfactory in the view of musicians from different levels and sensibilities.
GONG
"I See You"

I See You is timeless and timely, a welcome antidote to an increasingly homogenized musical mainstream. The playful song "I See You" is fusion and kicks off the album. "Syllabub" could be a hit, and namedrops culture in a fun-loving way. Tracks such as "This Revolution," a spoken piece which namechecks Gil Scott-Heron and picks up the vibe of his "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," articulates the kind of concerns and theories that've always inspired Daevid Allen and informed the Gong worldview, contrasts with the ferocious inter-stellar Funk of "You See Me," which is sure to be a live favorite. "Thank You" is a heavy slab of psychedelicised blues, whilst the closing song "Shakti Yoni Dingo Virgin," a moody, melodic instrumental piece with heavy pant-singing--serves to illustrate the immense musical firepower and musical diversity that lurks within the current line-up of Gong.

BEARDFISH
"+4626-Comfortzone"

Swedish progressive rockers Beardfish have been hard at work on the follow-up to 2013's "The Void", and now they are pleased to reveal that their brand new eighth studio album, "+4626- Comfortzone" will be released in North America on the 27th of January 2015. The band had this to say about the new album: "The comfort zone is the invisible protective suit of negative thinking, almost like an entity of itself. It's been with you since birth: your parents and your teachers and your friends and your neighbours all teaching you the way the world works - this is how it is and will be and there's nothing you can do about it. The negative vibe is like a voice living inside of you, a companion through life. With time you start to like that voice and the place it takes you to: your comfort zone. I'm so sick and tired of it and I want to address it and maybe in that way start to work my way out of it".
LOCANDA DELLE FATE
"Homo Homini Lupus"

Very little sense would have made to record a replica of the debut LP, more than twenty years after its initial release. With "Homo Homini Lupus". Locanda preferred to update their sound towards more modern paths, without losing the feeling at the base of their own compositions. Guitars and keyboards sound much more (hard) rock, but that does not mean that the quality of the songs has dropped: the musical research, in fact, is much more varied than in the past, with dashes of folk, world, ethnic and new age. The production, at last, is slightly cooler than that of the glorious 70s, and blends really well with lyrics of profound social criticism. An album to be discovered, now reissued on LP and CD by AMS Records.
MYSTERY
"Tales from the Netherlands"

Recorded live at the Boerderij Cultuurpodium in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands on May 10th 2013, the new live double-CD album from Mystery features a selection of songs from The World Is a Game, as well as old favorites from their back catalog. It is also the only live recording with ex-band member Benoit David. Other band members include Benoit Dupuis on keyboards, François Fournier on bass, Sylvain Moineau on guitar, Jean-Sébastien Goyette on drums, and band leader Michel St-Père on guitars.
SYLVAN
"Home"

The Hamburg-based rock band Sylvan is a force to be reckoned with in artrock. After 13 years in business they can look back at a successful and artistic development and on top of that pride themselves to be one of the few German artrock bands enjoying international success. With "Sceneries" (2012), Sylvan's eighth and brand new studio album is about to hit the stage.
SARIS
"Until We Have Faces"

Derk Akkermann (gtr/keys) wrote 10 new Songs to complete Saris' 3rd Studio Album. This is meant to continue the musical direction of "Curse of Time" and to bring out the quality of the vocalists. Thomas Hackmann, who was responsible for lead and backing vocals on "Curse Of Time", decided to contribute his support to the backing vocals (which he also successfully contributes to many international productions). In this, he was assisted by Anja Günther and Lutz Günther. Anja's voice should also be heard more often on the leading vocals. For the male lead vocals, Henrik Wager joined the band. Henrik, born in Manchester (GB), had a professional training at the "School of Performing Arts" and the conservatory in Birmingham (GB). Henrik works throughout Europe for musical theaters and various music projects as singer, songwriter and producer. Henrik is known as a musical artist worldwide and can be admired in many successful musicals as a leading actor on the stages of Europe.
FOBOS
"Fobos"

Fobos is an independent progressive rock band from Buenos Aires, Argentina, formed in 2014 by Bruno Caamaño (bass), Pablo Cordes (guitar, vocals) and Cristian "Baty" Tutaglio (keyboards, vocals). Fobos records and produces their own material. Their influences are many but mostly Genesis, Pink Floyd, and Marillion, combined with instrumental moments of fusion and jazz. Pablo Cordes and Bruno Caamaño are also the founder members of La Terraza Progresiva, a web group dedicated to promote progressive rock from all parts of the world.
ARLEKIN
"Disguise Serenades"

Arlekin is a solo project of Ukrainian musician Igor Sidorenko ("Stoned Jesus", "Krobak", "Voida", etc). First blueprints were written around 2005 when Igor was deeply moved by Fish-era Marillion and other Neo-Prog bands: IQ, Collage, Red Sand, Shadowland and the likes. 2008 saw him uploading "Disguise Serenades" home-recorded demo on MySpace and switching to his other bands soon after, promising himself to revise Arlekin in a proper way as soon as there's an opportunity to do so. And finally in early 2013 Igor found some time and inspiration to re-record "Disguise Serenades" in a professional studio with mixing done by members of "Vespero", Russian cult Psychedelic band. Everything about Igor's spiritual tribute to his beloved genre screams 80s Neo-Prog, from the obvious musical influences to the beautiful artwork done by Valeria Kemnitz. Released without a record deal, "Disguise Serenades" might be the first official full-length for Arlekin, but definitely not the last!
MAJESTIC
"Epsilon II"

Majestic proudly announces the release of a new double CD space odyssey titled Epsilon II. Building off the success of our 2012 V.O.Z release, Epsilon promises to deliver what progressive rock fans will call a favorite of 2014. Jeff Hamel is joined by the amazing Mike Kosacek on drums to create a sonic landscape rich in texture and depth. Jeff and Mike are supported by a very talented cast. Epsilon is a two part space odyssey loosely based upon the star Epsilon which is part of the Eridanus (The River) constellation. In Greek mythology, the constellation is associated with the story of Phaëton (or Phaëthon), the son of the Sun god Helios and the Oceanid Clymene. Phaëton wanted to drive his father's chariot across the sky and kept begging for Helios' permission to do so until the god agreed, advising Phaëton to follow the beaten track where he saw wheel marks.Phaëton mounted the chariot and the horses, sensing that the driver was lighter, flew upwards into the sky, leaving the familiar track behind.
TRAUMHAUS
"Die Andere Seite"

Traumhaus is a German group that evolved out of a mid 90s outfit called Zweeback. The group's name translates to "House of Dreams" and their music combines very well progressive rock, hard rock and some hints of a krautrock, including symphonic atmospheric sourses. While the style looks back to many German bands of the 70s and 80s, their use of angular melodies and their native tongue draws valid comparisons to one in particular, "Anyone's Daughter". "Novalis" and "Grobschnitt" might be other reference points, although Traumhaus is somewhat more rhythmic. Five years after the release of their much acclaimed previous album "Die Andere Seite" ("The Other Side") here is a new sign of life from Traumhaus at last - and it was sure worth the wait.

SOLARIS
"Live Chronicles"
(VINYL)

Solaris is a progressive rock band from Hungary. Established in 1980, the band went through several formations. Their music has a strong melodic content, often laced with Eastern European themes, and is highlighted by the use of dynamics and extended thematic development. There is a great deal of interplay among the lead instruments of flute, guitar and keyboard which is used regularly to develop their themes. The emphasis is not on providing solo spots for the various instruments, but rather in employing those instruments within the context of the development of the individual piece. Anthology of 1980-2006 live recordings of the epic Hungarian progressive rock band, including moments of their debut gig in 1980 and the 1986 farewell gig of the 1980s, also Mexican and US live tracks from the 1990-2000s. The first vinyl release of the band in 23 years.
