I´d like to invite all prog friends to a journey in this incredible music piece, at first let´s take a pompous sound of Genesis and Premiata Forneria Marconi from the year 70, also take the haunting lyrics of Yes and you can blend with some musicians putting their all into every song, and you have a perfection. This Debut album from Mangala Vallis is one of the most interesting new arrivals on the Italian Prog scene. A complex concept album, based on a fascinating story about Jules Verne and brilliantly executed in a higly performance. Excellent and indispensable work, highly recommendable Mangala

MANGALA
VALLIS
The Progressive Rock Project - Gigi, Mirco and Enzo developped the idea of Mangala Vallis in 1998. The band wanders in the world of progressive rock, and the result of 3 years of hard work is 'The Book of Dreams', a concept album inspired by the fantastic book-writer Jules Verne and his great books. Completely in love with the sound of the early 70's , Mangala Vallis is influenced by the music of that golden era, even if its music is filtered through its own taste and vision. Even the care in the production and the thorough research of the original sounds and instruments of that period are fundemental elements of the band's philosophy. The vocalists involved are: Vic Fraja, Matteo Setti and Bernardo Lanzetti former Acqua Fragile and P.F.M. Guest musicians: Stefano Menato - Saxophone, Elisa Giordanella - Viola, and Kimberly Duke - narrator. The lirycs (in English) have been written by Eugenio Carena. The Book Of Dreams is dedicated to the memory of Jules Verne. |
