Progressive Rock BR
RECOMMENDS
LONG EARTH
"The Source"

Long Earth came together by a series of fortunate but unexpected coincidences. Born from an agenda of no agenda, the principal from the outset was to create a musical adventure with no preconceived plan of the final destination. As things progressed, the band agreed we needed an amazing and very particular type of lead guitarist to join the ranks - so the hunt began. Thankfully in September 16 we were joined by the insanely talented Renaldo McKim (ex Suicide Underground). The final cog in the wheel is Hew Montgomery, Abel Ganz / Comedy Of Errors / Grand Tour who acts as a motivating factor in Long Earth. A semi silent partner almost... The circle complete, Long Earth are busy working on new material which draws on all the influences of the respective members.
COSMOGRAF
"The Hay-Man Dreams"

Cosmograf is a progressive rock project lead by Robin Armstrong, a multi instrumentalist musician from Waterlooville, England. The Cosmograf sound is rooted in 70's classic rock with a contemporary and progressive twist with obvious influences from classic progressive rock such as Pink Floyd, Yes and Genesis, but with more contemporary flavours from bands such as Porcupine Tree, Muse, and Radiohead. Robin plays guitar, keyboards, bass and drums, sings, and records, producing himself and fellow collaborating musicians, in his own self built music studio "The Trees". Cosmograf tracks feature guest musicians from the progressive rock community performing and contributing to each album.Cosmograf's sixth album harks back to the sound and feel of the classic 1970s Progressive bands and fuses traditional influences with a raw energy and contemporary Rock sound.
ULTRANOVA
"Orion"

It all started in 2012 to the sound of Pat Metheny. The cousins Daniel Leite (guitar) and Thiago Albuquerque (synthesizer / piano), decided to propose a modern dress to progressive rock consolidated in the 70s by names such as Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Yes. The idea was to create a band with a unique sonority, as their own identity, without departing from the style to which they were identified. They then invited two other prog-rock-lovers-musicians to finally found the band, and so Henrique Penna (drums) and Príamo Brandão (bass) joined in replacement of the former bassist Mario Neto. From that point on the compositions together absorbed a sound of rock in its most progressive aspect, and the quartet ended up highlighting the originality from the fusion of musical influences from each of its members. The result is instrumental music with a futuristic / space atmosphere, hence the name Ultranova.
COMEDY OF ERRORS
"House Of The Mind"

Comedy Of Errors much anticipated fourth album House Of The Mind is an exploration of the Jungian unconscious and non linear time. At once a departure and development from 2015's Spirit, House Of The Mind combines soaring anthemic melodies, Classical influences and hard driven Progressive sequences to produce a Sublime Symphonic Rock music. Available as a CD in digipak and as a heavyweight vinyl version with lined inner sleeve, CD in a slipcase, and signed lyric insert (this is limited to 80 copies).
GENTLE KNIFE
"Clock Unwound"

Gentle Knife is a Norwegian progressive rock ensemble featuring eleven members. With male and female vocalists, multiple guitarists, keys, synths, mellotron, woodwinds and more, our signature sound dips deeply into classic 70s prog, resurfacing with a modern take on the genre. The relentless passage of time is the main theme of the 2nd album, "Clock Unwound", which delves into lives overshadowed by longing and disappointment. Plans go askew, lovers betray and dreams fade. Yet, as a sense of resignation descends upon a dystopic inner landscape, moments of beauty remain. Songs are epic in format, and play across a broad spectrum of emotions. Progressive rock heavyweights are involved. The album is mixed and mastered by progressive rock heavyweights Markus Reuter and Benjamin Schäfer of Unsung Productions,
IL TEMPIO DELLE CLESSIDRE
"Il-ludere"

Third studio album for the band from Genova Il Tempio delle Clessidre. The title "il-ludere" is a word pun made of the Latin verb "ludere" (play) and the prefix "il", considered as the first part of the verb "illudere" (create an illusion). Hence the conceptual dualism of the disc, in which we wanted to analyze life in a simple and at the same time deep way, from everyday to the use of language and the fusion of ancient cultures from different parts of the world. The cover also graphically represents the concept of "ludus": to see the subject you must nudge the spaces marked with the dot (as in the well-known puzzle game). "Il-ludere" is going to be interesting and mysterious.
THE SAMURAI OF PROG
"On We Sail"

Multinational ensemble The Samurai Of Prog was formed sometime around 2009 as a project lead by Finland-based Italian composer and bassist Marco Bernard. He's been active in the Finnish Association for Progressive Music since 1995, and have been involved in their Colossus Magazine since 1996 - and instrumental in the Colossus series of theme albums they have created in cooperation with French label Musea Records.
KARDA ESTRA
"Infernal Spheres"

Karda Estra is an very competent group of British musicians who from from the late 90's to the date, create music that combines the dark spirit of the Eastern Europe ethnic sound (present in the use of Bazouki and Rastrophone) with the skills of the most pristine Symphonic Prog you can imagine expressed in complex and well developed orchestral arrangements that create an atmosphere of mystery and obscurity enhanced by the haunting chorals.
PRIMAVERA NEGRA
"Gorgona"

Primavera Negra is a chilean rock band based in Santiago. as an independent musical project. Primavera Negra works instrumental pieces on the concept of sonic images and music for images.
PHOENIX AGAIN
"Unexplored"

The foundation of Phoenix Again dates back to 1981, year in which this band from Brescia was born and baptized Phoenix. The band founders were the three Lorandi brothers, Claudio, Sergio and Antonio, all together with their drummer Silvano Silva. At this time they played live concerts all over their hometown. After five years of playing together, Antonio left the band in 1986. The sorts of Phoenix changed again in 1991, with the entry of Emilio Rossi?s keyboards, which added to their compositions a more symphonic direction. The collaboration with Emilio Rossi led to the recording Alchimie, the first tape with original compositions of the band. On 28th february 2014 the Phoenix Again released their second studio album "Look Out" with the new complete formation: Sergio Lorandi (guitars); Antonio Lorandi (bass guitars); Silvano Silva (drums & percussion); Andrea Piccinelli (keyboards & cello); Marco Lorandi (guitars); Giorgio Lorandi (percussion).
MOOONLIGHT SKY
"The Four "

Mooonlight Sky, a Slovenia based group, has been enrapturing audiences for quite some time now. As far as genre goes their music could be depicted as progressive rock, although there is more to it than that. The music of Mooonlight Sky is a fusion of different tastes and styles, from rock, jazz, blues up to film score. All of this is presented with a great deal of respect for the music history. The third CD consists of 10 songs, all written and arranged by the members of Moonlight Sky Trio. Music is a mixture of fusion, jazz, rock, flamenco, tango and world music. All compositions but one are instrumental pieces. They are reflecting energetic performance, mixed rhytms and complex melodic and harmonic structure.
PROCOL HARUM
"Novum"

July, 1967. "A Whiter Shade of Pale" is the #1 song in the world. But it's more than that. This is an era of rock revelations; each year has seen the deepening of rock as art. The Beatles have gone from "Hard Day's Night" to "Revolver" to "Sgt. Pepper." And now there is "A Whiter Shade of Pale", one song that has instantly defined something new: "classical rock". It's the melding of rock's electric guitar, powerful vocals and bombastic drums with thoughtful lyrics and the artful complexities of classical melody and arrangement. The very name of the group suggested something far deeper than ordinary pop music ... Procol Harum.
SARIS
"Ghosts Of Yesterday"

Saris founded back in 1981. From 1981 until 1983 they toured extensively in their native Germany, as well as recording the single "Out of Your Night". For various reasons, there was disagreement about the new musical direction and an upcoming album. So Saris went on the back burner for a few years. In 1992, a new line-up was in place though, as Martin Gellhaus (vocals), Udo Raitzig (bass), Stefan Kremer (keyboards) and Helge Bungert (drums, vocals) joined Akkermann for the recording of an album, released as "Dead End Street" in 1993. A subsequent tour followed and at the end of this, Raitzig and Bungert left the band. "Until We Have Faces" was recorded partly in Saris own studio and partly in the "Principal Studios" where it was also mixed and mastered. Engineer, co-producer and label boss Joerg Umbreit has given this album a new dimension.
RIVERSIDE
"Lost 'n' Found"
Live in Tilburg

Riverside is a way of expressing reflections, dreams and fantasies through music. It is an idea for exposing emotions, for an escape from the grey or unnaturally overcoloured reality. It is music inspired by a time, a place, a thought and a word, a figment of their own and other people's imagination. It is joy and sadness, a whisper and a scream. One more time during their visit to the Balkans, the band was surprised by something that was hard to imagine. After one of Romanian shows, great news from Poland reached the musicians. On May 25, the second single off "SoNGS" ? a ballad titled "The Depth of Self-Delusion" ? reached the top spot on the legendary Polish Radio 3 charts. The last show of the tour took place in Wroclaw's Alibi club where the band played for 900 fans. In that sultry, stormy night, the Wroclaw crowd that was waiting for the band since April, welcomed Riverside with enthusiasm and was rewarded with an almost 2-hour set comprised mainly of new songs and tracks from "ADHD".
LAST KNIGHT
"Talking To The Moon"

Last Knight is a international musical project with musicians from England, Germany, Denmark, Argentina, Australia and Spain. They collaborate through internet in the recording sessions coordinated by spanish producer/songwriter Jose Manuel Medina. Originally was created in 1997 with the porpouse of write instrumental music. Several albums were recorded but never released. Last Knight project makes a fusion between new age, electronic, ambient, rock, pop, progressive, celtic, orchestral and classical music. It is oriented to an audience that loves music in every way.
GREYFEATHER
"Greyfeather"

Art rock collaboration among members of Farpoint, Iluvatar, IZZ, Little Atlas and Cobweb Strange, recorded over several years and thousands of miles. Self titled debut album released in February 2017. The seeds of the band that would become Greyfeather were planted in the early 2000s through a shared deep and abiding love of music and a belief in the power of music to convey emotion in a way that no other artistic medium can.
DEEP PURPLE
"Infinite"

Deep Purple was formed in 1968 by Jon Lord, Ian Paice, Rod Evans, Ritchie Blackmore, and Nick Simper, Deep Purple released their debut album, Shades of Deep Purple, in July of that year. They have undergone many changes of personnel over the years, and today Ian Paice is the only member from the original line-up still with the band. The other members currently are Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Steve Morse and Don Airey. (See also List of Deep Purple band members). Infinite (stylised as inFinite) is the 20th studio album by English rock band Deep Purple, released on 7 April 2017. The track "Time for Bedlam" was released via YouTube and Spotify on 14 December 2016 and "All I Got Is You" followed on 10 March 2017. The album contains a bonus DVD entitled "From Here to Infinite".
MOSTLY AUTUMN
"Sight of Day"

Mostly Autumn was formed in the mid 1990s, the original line up included several members of Pink Floyd/1970s tribute band One Stoned Snowman. The band's founding line-up consisted of band leader Bryan Josh (vocals and guitars), along with Heidi Widdop (vocals), Iain Jennings (keyboards), Liam Davison (guitars), Alun Hughes (bass), Bob Faulds (violin), Kev Gibbons (whistles), and Chris Walton (drums). Mostly Autumn's first live shows were the former supporting the latter or vice versa; One Stoned Snowman's final concert was a farewell show in December 1995. Mostly Autumn's original rhythm section of Alun Hughes and Chris Walton left the band during 1996 to concentrate on other musical projects and family commitments respectively, and were subsequently replaced by bassist Stuart Carver and drummer Allan Scott. Shortly after this, Widdop was replaced on vocals by Heather Findlay.
THE MINDSTREAM
"The Mindstream"

The Mindstream is an exciting band whose unique sonic blend forms a style of rock music that is both progressive and easily accessible. With Paul Damon Thomas on guitar & vocals, Robert Durham on drums, and Andy Egyud on bass, they are recognized for their dynamic performances and original sound. Together they have been performing as the Mindstream since November 2014, winning fans and gaining momentum as they go. Paul Damon Thomas is an inspired composer of space- blues/pop-rock - layering heavy bass and drums with ethereal guitar riffs and melodies. As the founder and leader of the Mindstream, Paul is pushing the boundaries of what people think of as pop-rock music. As a child, Paul's first instrument was the drums. And this is evident in the driving rhythms of his music. At age 13, he bought his electric guitar (the same one he still uses today) and, despite multiple influences, he started writing heavy metal songs.
ISILDURS BANE & STEVE HOGARTH
"Colours Not Found in Nature"

Swedish Progressive pioneers, Isildurs Bane and Marillion vocalist Steve Hogarth join forces on 2017 album Colours Not Found In Nature. Comprising six songs composed by IB's musical director and keyboard player Mats Johansson and Steve Hogarth, the richly detailed recordings feature tuned percussion, strings, woodwind, brass and voices, and within an integrated suite-like album structure. Both a departure for Steve Hogarth and a stunning return for Isildur's Bane, the album incorporates elements of Rock, traditional music, Jazz and contemporary Classical in one brilliantly unified world.
EYE 2 EYE
"The Light Bearer"

EYE 2 EYE finally comes out of a silence that lasted five years. However, this wait will not have been in vain, since after a few personnel changes, EYE 2 EYE proves to us that it has lost nothing of its verve. The neo Progressive influences of the past are less evident, to leave room for others, more symphonic. The vocals, now held by Michel CERRONI, are deep and lyrical, while the arrangements are even further polished. A string quartet brings a bit of novelty as well. "The Light Bearer" is a very nice surprise!
WHITE WILLOW
"Future Hopes"

White Willow is considered Norway's foremost exponent of art-rock - by which people tend to mean pop songs stretched to pointless lengths and crammed with weird-sounding instruments. And that happens to be pretty much what we do. We've been at it since 1995 when we released our first album, "Ignis Fatuus". Since then we've changed line-ups frequently, and gone through gradual stylistic shifts that have led us from prog-folk via symphonic hard rock to something else. It is universally agreed that in spite of all these instabilities a White Willow album must contain certain constants: Chiming guitar chords, mellotrons and songs about sad people.
MAGENTA
"We Are Legend"

Magenta's 2017 studio release We Are Legend marks a first for the band as it's the first album where the live and studio line-up are one and the same. Featuring only three songs (including the 26 minute Trojan), We Are Legend represents a bold new step for the Progressive stalwarts. Magenta are a Welsh progressive rock band formed in 1999 by ex-Cyan member Rob Reed. Reed takes his influences from bands like Genesis, Mike Oldfield, Yes, Eurythmics and Björk. Although heavily influenced by progressive rock, Reed is a professional songwriter and has done many other projects for both film and television. The most successful of these projects was called Trippa, featuring Christina Booth on vocals and Rob Reed on guitars and keyboards. Reed asked Christina to be lead vocalist for a progressive rock project he had in mind, and the initial ideas for Magenta were born.
GLACIER
"Ashes For The Monarch"

Glacier are a melodic progressive rock band based in the North East of England and have been in existence since the late 70's early 80's. All music is their own original work.
PENDRAGON
"Masquerade 20"

The story begins in the quiet, sleepy town of Stroud, Gloucestershire, England in 1978. Four like minded, young musicians got together and decided to form a rock band. Zeus Pendragon consisting of Nick Barrett [guitar/vocals], Julian Baker [guitar/vocals], Nigel Harris [drums] and Stan Cox [bass] was born. Full of ambition and joie de vive, Zeus Pendragon started out playing cover versions of classic rock tunes by Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and Santana and their first gig at the sleazy Marshall Rooms in Stroud was ironically the very same day that Nick Barrett left school forever, burning his maths books and picking up his guitar on the way? the future had been determined.
JPL
(Jean Pierre Louveton)
"Le Livre Blanc"

Guitar player since 1987, Jean Pierre Louveton took his classes with many different bands, with many different styles before being at the origin of Nemo in 2000. In parallel, four studio albums under the name "JPL" have been released since 2002, offering to the listeners a large panel of musical styles. Influenced by guitar players as Michael Schenker, Steve Vai or David Gilmour, Jean Pierre Louveton focuses his playing more on the personnal and emotive side than on the extrem technicity, more on the melody than on a big flow of notes. Since 2002, six albums under the name JPL have been released. Very eclectic, these albums are quite stylistically unclassifiable, probably somewhere between Instrumental Rock, Pop Rock and Progressive Music. They are the result of personal work, with the participation of longtime friends.
BJØRN RIIS
"Forever Comes to an End"

Airbag co-founder, songwriter and lead guitarist, Bjørn Riis will release his second solo album, Forever Comes to an End, in May 2017. The album is the follow-up to the highly acclaimed and awarded debut, Lullabies in a Car Crash. Forever Comes to an End feature seven songs, with inspiration from classic rock, prog and movie scores. Bjørn?s unique guitar playing has a centre role, with soaring leads, heavy riffs and beautiful textures. Lyrically, the album deals with broken relationships and loss and the emotional duality between resentment and forgiving. The album is very much a tribute to all of Bjørn's musical influences. From the dark and dirty riffs of Toni Iommi and Zakk Wylde, to the emotional playing of David Gilmour and Steven Rothery. The melodic and sombre voice of Steven Wilson and Tim Bowness and the cinematic landscapes of composers like Thomas Newman and John Barry.
HABELARD2
"Maybe"

Composer from 1977, he plays keyboards, guitars and electric bass. After short experiences with various progressive-rock groups, he started a solo research activity, moving on electronic, new-age, rock, folk & other contaminations. At this time is keyboardist with Ad Maiora, a prog band in Milan. The Line-UP are Alberto Ravasini - Maxophone, Alessandro Di Caprio - Ubi Maior, Antonio Lorandi - Phoenix Again, Enzo Giardina - Ad Maiora, Ettore Salati - Alex Carpani Band, Flavio Carnovali - Ad Maiora, Francesco Lattuada, Giorgio Gabriel - The Watch, Ivano Tognetti - Silver Key, Joe Sal - Alex Carpani Band, Moreno Piva - Ad Maiora, Paolo Callioni - Ad Maiora And Sergio Lorandi - Phoenix Again.
MORRIGHANS
"The Three Circles Of Death"

The Morrighans music is inspired by many musical styles such as atmospheric rock, progressive rock, metal, post-rock, folk and melancholic music. The world has collapsed in the chaos left by the fallen civilization, a heaven ship brings voice and songs of mourning, rest and hope. Dirigible surrounded by crows crosses valleys, sign of despair for some, release for others. his crew revered and feared his mistress, the Triple, the Morrighan. This one opens the Three Circles of Death.
PIETRO COTTONE
"Inferno"

Inferno is a gapless, concept album, which fuses rock music and poetry narration, to describe Dante Alighieri's symbolic and still extraordinarily modern journey into Hell. With 2015 marking the 750th anniversary of Dante's birth, Inferno brings the listener through the evilness, weaknesses and misery of human nature. The use of rumors, sound effects and dissonances creates a visionary dimension typical of psychedelic rock. The unifying and epic theme, the use of complex time signatures and the frequent changes of tempo are what characterize Inferno as a progressive rock album. In Inferno simple music motifs repeat obsessively, and progressively develop into climaxes, underlying the minimalist nature of the project. Inferno is also a poetry narration: music is accompanied by a voice which recites selected verses from the first Cantica of the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri.
L'IRA DEL BACCANO
"Paradox Hourglass"

The project, originally formed as Loosin "O" Frequencies (and released a mini CD produced by doom guru Paul Chain) was born from Alessandro "Drughito" Santori and Roberto Malerba. In 2006 they decided to turn it into an instrumental band and call it L'ira Del Baccano, melting doom influences as Black Sabbath with the 60', 70's psychedelia of Pink Floyd and Hawkwind, the heavy-prog vibes of bands like Rush, as well as the performing freedom and attitude of jam bands such as Grateful Dead. The result? long tracks, in constant evolution and movement on every concert. In summer '08 the band released it's first album ? "Si non sedes is?Live", 56 minutes of live performance in concert. They decided to let the album be available as a free download from their official site and very soon many reviews started to appear on the web.
CAST
"Power and Outcome"

Cast born on April 15, 1978 by his founder Alfonso Vidales. This first lineup presents Juan Carlos Ochoa on vocals and drums, Javier Rosales on Guitar, Gabriel Rosales on Bass, Rosales Lorenzo on drums, later replaced by Raul Montoya, and Alfonso Vidales in Keyboards ... In 1979 Cast published the first album of the band, a single titled "Complot" in two versions (Side A and B). And that year is the first live appereance in the "Café Literario" in Mexicali. During the decade of the 80 `s Cast experienced significant changes in their lineup what would shaping their sound and style featuring current outstanding musicians who transcended. Thus in 1981 Dino Brassea integrates the band for various stages of the life of the group and then alternating vocals with Francisco Hernandez, who joins the band in that same decade. That year Enrique Slim is invited to play drums,
TAPROBAN
"Per Aspera ad Astra"

The group was founded in Rome in 1996 by keyboards player Gianluca De Rossi and gets its name from Taprobana, the ancient denomination of Ceylon Island (Sri-Lanka), where Tommaso Campanella set the narration of his book "The City of the Sun". The group takes its inspiration by Symphonic Progressive Rock of the Seventies, which most representative groups were Genesis, Yes, Gentle Giant and King Crimson. However, in absence of an electric guitar player, with the consequent prominence of the keyboards, their triangle line-up remind to Emerson Lake & Palmer and other similar bands like Le Orme, UK and Triumvirat. Taproban music can also be defined as a soundtrack without the film, in fact its sound language prefers long instrumental sections to the lyrics.
THE RYSZARD KRAMARSKI PROJECT
"Music inspired by The Little Prince"

For many years I've been trying to record and release my first solo album but every time it ended up with recording the next album of Millenium. I never regretted it and I think these were the right decisions. But now after a few months' work in the studio, I am pleased to present you my first solo album for all fans of art rock, called: The Ryszard Kramarski Project - music inspired by The Little Prince. To make this album I invited the following musicians: Guitars - Marcin Kruczek (Moonrise, Nemesis, Hipgnosis), Drums and percussion instruments - Grzegorz Fieber (Loonypark, Padre), Bass - Pawel Pyzik (Another Pink Floyd), Vocals - wonderfully done by Karolina Leszko, already working with Millenium before, Me - (Ryszard Kramarski) obviously played on keyboards and acoustic guitars.
ASTROLABIO
"I Paralumi della Ragione"

Astrolabio is a project born in Verona, Italy, in 2009, on the ashes of Electrosmog, the group that gathered excellent results, not only at the local level, and disbanded in 2007, shortly after the publication of the debut concept album "monologue". The sound of the Astrolabio is therefore a direct line with its recent past: an original Italian rock hued unequivocally "seventy" often inspired by the ideals of composition to the usual roaring years of Italian Progressive Rock, accompanying texts whose themes, starting from the hallway and is from any, are gradually folded outdoor controversy to the "smaller" of the post-modern society, hypocritical and illusory, he reflected the deep crisis of identity of the contemporary individual.
AUDIO'M
"Audio'm"

Originally written for piano and viola da gamba, the compositions of Audio'm have been enriched by the association of the seven other musicians, each bringing his musical sensitivity. Audio'm's music fits into the philosophy of progressive rock, inspired by jazz, classical music and prog rock of the 70s; the only artistic constraints of the band are creation and musical research. The harmonic richness and rhythmic complexity of the original pieces allow for each instrument a wide range of expression that gracefully combine musical
dialogue and melodic osmosis.
ANUBIS SPIRE
"Spooky Action At A Distance"

Anubis Spire was formed new years day 1998 after a chance jam session the night before. Made up of musical veterans who wanted to write and play music in the mid-seventies style of such bands as "Led Zeppelin", "Mahavishnu Orchestra", etc., the band set about melding it's various influences and adding a heavy dose of world and ethnic sounds and a modern twist to the mix. The debut album Old Lions (in the world of snarling sheep) was recorded in a barn, on an antiquated 8 track almost entirely Live! Old Lions (in the world of snarling sheep) is a mostly instrumental album (4 vocal tunes) that packs over 65 minutes of intense guitar-heavy progressive rock/world fusion improvisation into it's 15 cuts. What does Anubis Spire sound like? One reviewer summed them up as: "Progressive rock from Mars, filtered through Atlantis, India and ancient Egypt and sounding kinda like a fistfight between "Jimi Hendrix" and "John McLaughlin" at the base of the great pyramid!".
KAPREKAR'S CONSTANT
"Fate Outsmarts Desire"

The core of the band are songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Al Nicholson and Nick Jefferson, who have written together for many years but formed this project 18 months ago. However, playing a major part on the album are legendary Van Der Graaf Generator sax and flute maestro David Jackson, here united with his daughter Dorie Jackson (Francis Dunnery) who provides the stunning vocals on this track.  Drums come from former Level 42 man Phil Gould. Musically, the band's melodic sensibilities, epic arrangements and love of historical subject matter place them squarely in the same area of Prog as Big Big Train and Genesis, indeed fans of the former band should find much to love here, while David Jackson's inspirational sax and the mix of male and female vocals offer mean that there are enough differences to set this remarkable band apart.
BAROCK PROJECT
"Detachment"

On 20 March 2017, Barock Project will release their sixth album, a CD entitled DETACHMENT. The fifth studio album for the Italian band, opening their second decade of history in a steady rise into the prog symphonic rock world. Following the 3 reprints of Skyline (2015) and the double live CD Vivo (2016) acclaimed by international press and sales in 40 countries, the band delivers a brand new set of music after a full year of studio sessions started as soon as former vocalist Pancaldi left Barocks. Thirteen tracks that take the listener on a magical musical tour around rock, symphonic, jazz, folk, metal, electronic and even distant hints of oriental and flamenco, led by the versatile instrumentalist Luca Zabbini, this time also lead vocalist and unstoppable composing soul of Barock Project. Detachment is an album far more straight and essential than previous, less muscle and more substantial elegance, a choice made for a communicative reason that is perhaps more directed to the band itself.
EKOS
"Otra Dimensión"

Ekos is a new coming group from Mexico, a new name that emerge among the actual Progressive Rock scenary today. I consider Ekos a brilliant band, that is not afraid of evolving by incorporating new trends into their music, but with strong references from the past, around many progressive rock bands from years 70. They started their career, as a band playing Pink Floyd's songs, but as soon as some cover bands, they join forces to give birth to a stunning musical project. Ekos is a proposal for each of the performers and the sum of them in a loud musical journey of no limitation and total and absolute freedom of its members. Live, "Luz Interna" becomes a ritual accompanied by audiovisual material that make the viewer's mind surf music, finding their own ways.
