Mars Hollow is a new band, hailing from Southern Californias, USA, classically influenced by some progressive rock monsters from the past, and preserving today, the pure musical tradition created in the seventies. For those progressive lovers who are looking for something different, look no further! Mars Hollow can offer you everything you want to listen, a mix of some styles such as Symphonic Progressive Rock, Prog Metal, Neo-Progressive and Melodic Rock, the main styles which usually compose some well-renowned bands. Formed by four musicians, the band created a superior instrumental music, which strengthens the melodic depth of the group. The drummer performs a vibrant rhythm in the drums in the background, while dominant guitar's solos floats around symphonic arrangements, together with a sound collection of Hammond organ, Mellotron and synths very well combined with the bass. I also would like to highlight special mention to the Lead singer/ guitarist John Baker who has a beautifully and pure vocal tone, that fits perfectly into the arrangements, giving a special effect on melody. This is an album full of amazing themes, developed through long tracks, a vibrant symphonic music with intense emotion that captivates the listener from the opening track until the last song, providing an entrancing experience. The music on the album contains many sections where arrangements are very well elaborated throughout the symphonic spectrum, that in my opinion, is a pure musical delight, deserving a special attention from all prog rock fans. The music from the band, follows in the same style such as the bands "Star Castle", "Yes", "Triumvirat", "Emerson, Lake & Palmer", "Like Wendy", "Genesis", "Styx" and "Saga". In fact, Mars Hollow is a must listen for anyone who pines for a vibrant progressive rock, with a rich instrumental and a technical innovative skill. Brilliant, fantastic, and an amazing album and band, highly recommendable... The
